Patrick MALLET was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1970, and has been working in Paris since 1996 as a scriptwriter and illustrator.

He produced his first comic strips in the early 2000s for the magazine Atrabile, while at the same time beginning work as an illustrator for young people and as a role-playing game designer. In 2002, he wrote and drew his first comic strip: J'ai pas sommeil! published by La Joie de Lire.

Fascinated by literature, he decided in 2004 to adapt texts into comic strips: he began with part of Casanova's Memoirs (Casanova sous les Plombs de Venise, Glénat), followed by Vathek by William Beckford and Smarra after Charles Nodier (Glénat). He then wrote his own stories, with Achab (Glénat), a series in which he imagined the life of the hero of Moby Dick before Herman Melville's novel. Then he published Le long hiver (Casterman), a story in which fairy-tale fantasy and the 1914 War are intertwined.

At the same time, he designed several book covers for various publishers of fantasy literature (La Clé d'Argent, Malpertuis), and collaborated on a tribute book to Jack Kirby (Kirby & Me) and the Panorama du fantastique (published by Moutons électriques).

He also writes stories for other illustrators (Cornélius Shiel, with Patrizio Evangelisti, published by Delcourt, and Les Sanson contre l'Amateur de souffrances with Boris Beuzelin, published by Vent d'Ouest). He is also the illustrator of the Fouché series, based on a script by Nicolas Juncker (published by Les Arènes). Recently, he published Toutânkhamon, l'odyssée d'Howard Carter with Les Arènes (drawing by Paul Marcel) and Les Ombres de Thulé with Hunamoïdes Associés (drawing by Lionel Marty).

 In 2017, he co-wrote with Thierry Tripod a web series produced by France Télévisions and Brainworks: Les Uchroniques.

Since 2019, he has been editing books for éditions Mnémos (including L'intégrale H. P. Lovecraft) and also revising translations for them.
